The Anambra Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on Peter Obi, the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate in the 2023 election, to rejoin the party.
The PDP issued the call following the expanded meeting of the State Executive Committee (SEC) to assess the party’s condition and plan a path forward in Awka yesterday, June 5. The statement, endorsed by the PDP Chairman in Anambra, Mr. Chidi Chidebe, indicated that partnerships with politically mismatched groups, under the pretense of coalitions, are unlikely to achieve the intended success.
The committee warmly invites all disgruntled and past members of the PDP in Anambra, especially our esteemed former governor, Mr. Peter Obi, to come back and reunite with the revitalized and reorganized PDP.
“We are happy to have our brothers and sisters return to unite with us in the shared pursuit of an improved Nigeria,” he stated. Activities for adventure
He urged the Anambra voters to back Jude Ezenwafor and his partner, Francis Okeke, in the upcoming election. Chidebe called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to guarantee a just, open, and unbiased electoral procedure.
“We urge the honorable citizens of Anambra to maintain their unwavering support for the PDP and to turn out in large numbers to vote for our candidates,” he stated.
He declared the unanimous selection of Chief Clems Ezike to occupy the open role of National Ex-Officio from Anambra. He called on the Southeast Zonal Executive Committee led by Chief Ali Odefa to acknowledge and forward his name to the national secretariat. He praised the party leadership for an effective National Executive Committee meeting on May 27 and voiced approval of the strategy for addressing its internal issues.
