Super Falcons defender Ashleigh Plumptre has expressed concern regarding a situation of online impersonation.

She sounded the alarm following the Nigerian senior women’s team’s 3-0 victory over Tunisia in their first match at the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, WAFCON.

Plumptre aided the nine-time African champions in maintaining a clean sheet against the North African team and securing the top spot in Group B. Commenting after the match, the England-born defender stated, as reported by Ademola Victor TV.

“Numerous instances exist where individuals pretend to be me, using my name and making statements.”

“There’s a Facebook account being removed, but it’s offering people money and items, which is simply not accurate,” she explained.

She stated that any Facebook account under her name is fraudulent, asserting that hers has not been active for years.

“I possess a personal Facebook account, yet I hardly utilize it.”
