The CEO, who is married, has resigned from Astronomer after a video of him at a Coldplay concert in the US with his arms around the HR head went viral, the company announced on Saturday.
In a Linkedin post, the software startup announced: “Andy Byron has submitted his resignation, and the Board of Directors has approved it.”
It noted: “As mentioned earlier, Astronomer remains dedicated to the principles and culture that have directed us since our inception. Our leaders should exemplify the expected conduct and accountability, and lately, that expectation was not fulfilled.

The update follows the company’s announcement on Friday that Byron and Kristin Cabot, the HR head, had been put on leave, according to Axios.
They were spotted cuddling on the Jumbotron camera at the Coldplay concert in Foxborough, Massachusetts, located south-west of Boston.
The event caused a frenzy online.
Byron has led Astronomer since 2023. In 2024, Cabot became the company’s head of HR. In an announcement regarding Cabot’s recruitment, Byron stated: “Kristin’s outstanding leadership and extensive knowledge in talent management, employee engagement, and expanding people strategies will be crucial as we maintain our rapid growth.”
