Erika Kirk, the widow of U.S. conservative activist Charlie Kirk, has publicly addressed her husband’s death for the first time, delivering an emotional message from the Turning Point USA headquarters in Arizona.
Speaking during a livestream, Mrs. Kirk stood beside her late husband’s empty podcast chair and whispered a prayer before thanking the first responders who attempted to save him, as well as the staff and the White House.
Mr. Kirk, 31, was fatally shot on Wednesday during a speaking engagement at Utah Valley University.
Police arrested the suspected gunman, Tyler Robinson, the following day after he surrendered.
In her remarks, Mrs. Kirk made it clear that her husband’s legacy would not die with him.
