Veteran Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has honored Nigerian film icon, Sir Olu Jacobs, on his 2025 birthday, sharing a touching tribute that highlights the significant influence Jacobs had on his early career in acting.
In a heartfelt social media message, Edochie praised Jacobs as “a Nollywood Icon, one of the most significant figures in African film.” He subsequently described the priceless insights he acquired from collaborating with the legendary actor.
“One of the most remarkable experiences during the beginning of my acting journey was the honor of performing alongside Uncle Olu Jacobs several times,” Edochie stated.
He also expressed his commitment to learning from the master: “After performing my scenes with him, I would sit and observe him during the scenes he had without me. “I watched all his actions and gained a lot of knowledge.”
